Oprah Tweets That She Loves The New Microsoft Surface Tablet,... From Her iPad

In am embarrassing gaff, Oprah apparently tweeted that she loved Microsoft's new tablet, the Surface, saying it felt like a Mercedes-Benz, and “Gotta say love that SURFACE!", and she did it from her iPad, forgetting Twitter tracks the user's platform device.

Awkward?

In her tweet, she said the "pictures seem sharper", and that the "keyboard was easier", but easier than what is not sure. Notably absent was any comment that she owns a Surface.

In 2010 she was quoted as saying this about her new iPad, “from our very first moment together, I knew it had stolen my heart".

Apple Stock Drops After Announcement Of Top Executive Shakeup

Apple's stock has dropped below $600 a share following an announcement by Apple of changes at the top of the company.

Apple announced that Scott Forstall and John Browett are both leaving the company. Forstall was the head of Apple's iOS and once thought to be a successor to Steve Jobs. Browett was head of the retail division for just a few months.

The news came out on Monday as Hurricane Sandy was slamming into New Jersey and New York and the stock market was closed.

Apple Claims Title Of Most Valuable Company In History

Apple has once again set new records, this time claiming the title of the most valuable company ever, in the history of modern human times. The company's stock is selling at $662 per share in mid-afternoon trading, making it worth $621 billion.

Microsoft once held this spot, during the internet boom, but lost it as the boom crashed.

In the last month, Apple's stock has climbed more than $100 per share in anticipation of the upcoming iPhone 5 release and the much rumored smaller cheaper iPad.

Apple Confirms YouTube App Will Not Be Included On New iOS For iPhone and iPad

Apple recently confirmed that YouTube will no longer be included on its new iOS for iPhones and iPads saying "our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended." Until now, Apple had paid Google, the owner of YouTube, a license fee to put the app on its iPhones.

Apple did say that Google is now working on a new YouTube app to be available in Apple's App Store but gave no details about if it will be available in time for the newest iPhone, slated to be launched in September.

Apple said users can use their Safari browser and watch YouTube that way.

Apple Ordered To Trial In Location Tracking Lawsuit

A Federal Court in California has ordered that Apple must go to trial in a location tracking lawsuit after two researchers discovered that Apple had been secretly tracking users location and movements without their consent, even with GPS turned off and claimed that that violated the user agreements.

Apple had sought to have the case dismissed arguing it did nothing wrong and that this was covered in the terms of use, and that they never shared any information to third party companies. The case involved iPhones, iPads and iPods.

Apple And Samsung Ordered To Mediation To Resolve Patent Dispute

A federal magistrate had ordered Apple and Samsung top executives to attend mediation in the hopes of resolving a patent dispute in which Apple claims Samsung "slavishly" copied some Apple products.

Neither Apple's Tim Cook or Samsung's Choi Gee-sung were at the court hearing in what has become a global patent dispute involving 20 cases in 10 different countries.

Apple, the maker of the iPod, iPad and iPhone, has a complex relationship with Samsung, a conglomerate that makes computer chips, Galaxy smartphones, and televisions.

Despite Apple's Record Sales And Profits, Analyst Predict Gradual Slide Backwards

Though Apple doubled its first quarter profits and sold 35 million iPhones in 2012, both new record highs, analyst are predicting Apple will gradually decline back to around $400 billion in market value, down from its current $610 billion in worth.

According to George Colony, the CEO of Forrester Research, there are two main reasons why. First, the Steve Jobs era is done, and while Apple will continue to ride a wave for two to four years, the Jobs character is gone and there is no apparent replacement capable of leading the masses in the way Jobs was able to.
