Iran Executes Alleged U.S. And Israeli Spies

Iran has claimed that it has executed spies that were working for the CIA and the Israeli spy agency Mossad.

State media reports that Mohammad Heidari was accused of working with the Mossad and Kourosh Ahmadi was working with the CIA. Both were executing by hanging reportedly.

There has been no official verification of this, but Iran routinely "executes" spies who say are working to undermine its nuclear technology.

No dates were given as to when either men were executed or when they were arrested and put on trial.

2 Iranians Found Guilty In Kenya Of Terrorism Plans And Possession of Explosives

A Kenyan court has found two Iranians, Ahmad Mohammed and Sayed Mousavi, guilty of possession of explosives and plotting to carry out bombings in Kenyan cities.

The Nairobi court passed down the verdict following the arrests of the two Iranians last June and the subsequent investigation. Eventually the two plead not guilty and were confronted with evidence during the trial. It is believed the FBI assisted in the investigation.

Both face up to 15 years in prison.

It is still not known if the two are connected to any known terrorist groups.

7.8 Earthquake Kills At Least 40 At Iran Near Pakistan Border

There has been a powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Saravan, Iran, which is near the Pakistan border, killing at least 40 people. The quake was so strong that it shook buildings as far away as New Delhi and Gulf cities of Dubai and Bahrain according to reports in those locations.

According to the USGS, the quake registered at 7.8 and was located 9 miles deep.

No other information is being released on Iranian state TV.

Tuesday's quake came less than a week after a 6.1 magnitude quake about 60 miles southeast of Bushehr, the site of Iran's main nuclear reactor, killed 37 people.

U.S. Treasury Department Targets Businesses, People, Banks Evading Iranian Sanctions

The U.S. Treasury Department announced Thursday that it has targeted a list of people, banks and businesses that it believes are evading Iranian sanctions.

Businessman Babak Zanjani and the First Islamic Investment Bank were among those targeted what what it says were systematic practices designed to evade international sanctions against Iran.

As part of its enforcement, it has prohibited any of those listed from doing any business with U.S. citizens or businesses, and frozen all assets they had within U.S. jurisdiction.

6.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Iran's Nuclear Plant In Kaki, Death Toll Climbs

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake has struck the town of Kaki, in the Bushehr province of Iran, the site of Iran's first nuclear power plant. "No damage was done to Bushehr power plant," Bushehr provincial governor Fereidoun Hasanvand told state TV.

So far at least 32 people have been confirmed dead and hundreds more are reported injured and more deaths are expected as emergency crews enter the area and survey the damage.

According to Shahpour Rostami, the deputy governor of the province, the district of Shomneh suffered the most damage.

Obama Hints At A Military Option Towards Iran

President Obama spoke on Israeli TV today about his upcoming trip to Israel and about the continued Iranian problem. In remarks, Obama said all options are on the table if diplomatic efforts fail.

The U.S., Russia, Germany, the E.U. and the U.N. have been engaged in a nuclear negotiation standoff with Iran for several years.

Iran claims it is developing peaceful nuclear energy technology but has refused to allow international inspectors into its country, despite other nuclear powers allowing such inspections as part of their international agreements.

Iran Announces It Will Sue Hollywood Over The Movie 'Argo'

The Iranian government has hired French attorney Isabelle Coutant-Peyre and announced that it plans to sue Hollywood over the Oscar winning movie 'Argo'.

According to Coutant-Peyre, Iran recently received the film and was screening it before being released to the public and that Iranian officials believe the movie is an "unrealistic portrayal" of the country and the events during the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran when the American Embassy was stormed an American's were held hostage for 4444 days.

Iran Says It Is Adding 3,000 More Advanced Centrifuges To Enrich Uranium

Iran has announced that it will be adding about 3,000 more centrifuges to increase its capacity to process uranium for nuclear material.

The new generation of advanced centrifuges will be installed at the Natanz uranium enrichment plant in central Iran and the report in Iranian media was the first time the amount or location was given for the new centrifuges.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said in February 180 so-called IR-2m centrifuges and empty centrifuge casings had been put in place at the facility near the town of Natanz in central Iran.

U.S. Navy To Scale Back Forward Deployent Of Aircraft Carrier Assets In Persian Gulf

Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has confirmed in a recent conference that top military officials will delay the deployment of the Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier along with its battle group to the Persian Gulf in an effort to save money amid uncertain and unsettling budgetary cuts to the defense budget

The Truman has been schedules to deploy next week and provide relief to another carrier already there and helping to keep America's force projection strong near Iran.

Syria And Iran Threaten Military Action Against Israel

Following an Israeli attack in Syria near the Lebanon border which destroyed anti-aircraft missiles being sent to the terrorist group Hezbollah (which is based in southern Lebanon), both Iran and Syria have increased their sabre rattling against Israel.

Iran's foreign ministry said that any attack on Syria is considered an attack on Iran and it has taken the issue to the U.N., calling it an attack on a sovereign nation without provocation, following Russia's statement.
