Inmate T'rez Campbell Escapes Volusia County, Believed To Have Fled The State

Daytona Beach, Fla. -

Officials in Volusia County say inmate T'rez Campbell has escaped custody where he was incarcerated at the Volusia County Jail and is it believed that he has left the state.

Campbell had been incarcerated for trafficking in narcotics, resisting an officer, and leaving the scene of a crash and was given a furlough to attend the funeral services of his grandmother.

He was last seen in Orlando on Westmoreland Drive in Orlando.

Officials think Campbell may be in Georgia and are investigating leads and possible connections.

Prison Van Crashed On I-4 Near PLant City With 25 Inmates

Planty City, Fla. -

A prison van carrying 25 inmates from the Hillsborough County jail to a Florida prison was involved in a crash on Interstate 4 early this moring.

Several of the inmated reported neck and back pain after the accident and they were transported to the Falkenburg Road Jai where they were evaluated at the jail's infirmary.

The Florida Highway Patrol, FHP, said they do not know what caused the crash and are investigating.

Fort Lauderdale Woman Granted Bond After Leaving Newborn Child In Dumpster To Die

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -

Alexandria Sladon-Marler has been granted $50,000 bail by Broward Circuit Judge John “Jay” Hurley after a half hour hearing in his courtroom. 33-year-old Sladon-Marler is accused of leaving her newborn child in a dumpster to die near where she lived, at the Fort Lauderdale Beach Palace Hotel and Suites on North Ocean Boulevard.

Osceola Man Charged With Child Pornography After Polk County Investigation

Osceola Count, Fla. -

Osceola County deputies have arrested 38-year-old Robert Britt following an undercover internet sting operations by Polk County investigators and have charged him with 10 counts of child pornography late yesterday.

Investigators in Polk County alleged that Britt was using the internet to traffic and distribute child pornographic images.

According to law enforcement, Britt previously volunteered for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program, and worked at a school resource officer and a patrol officer.

Justin Mitchell Arrested After Forcing 7 Year Old Florida Boy To Smoke Pot At Gunpoint

Walton County, Fla. -

Police have arrested 26-year-old Justin Blake Mitchell after deputies say Mitchell hit his wife and pointed a gun at the boy and forced him to smoke marijuana saying if the boy didn't, he'd shoot him.

He then turned the gun on his wife and threatened to shoot and kill her as well and then robbed her of cash and personal property according to the arrest report. Additionally, he's been accused of stealing another man's debit card and robbing another woman.

Michell is being held in the Walton County Jail with no bond.

Man Claiming To Be Jesus Christ Arrested After Threatening Neighbor Who He Thinks Is The Anti-Christ

Palm Bay, Fla. -

Police in Palm Bay have arrested 51-year-old Kenneth David Peterson after claiming he was Jesus Christ and attacked his neighbor for being the Anti-Christ. The incident happened in the 1500 block of Charles Boulevard.

According to police, Peterson used a crow bar and confronted his neighbor and began threatening him when police received the call.

Peterson is being held in the Brevard County Jail on a $150,000 bond and is being charged with aggravated stalking and aggravated assault.

Hillsborough County Jail Catches Fire; 160 Inmates Forced To Evacuate

Tampa, Fla. -

The Falkenberg Road jail unit of the Hillsborough County Jail caught fire early Sunday morning at around 1:00 am according to Sheriff Deputies who say 160 inmates had to be moved as a result of the fire.

Deputies and fire officials think the fire started as a result of thunderstorms causing an electrical panel to catch fire in one of the housing units.

The fire was put out before fire crews arrived, but it damaged an electrical control panel that controls systems inside that unit, forcing inmates to be moved.

Brawl At The Osceola County Courthouse Leads To 3 Being Arrested Over Stand Your Ground Law

Kissimmee, Fla. -

Just outside of an Osceola County courtroom a fight broke out between family and supporters of Jayson Clair, who is facing first-degree murder charges in the deaths of two brothers outside of a bar; and family and friends of the Kun brothers.

The fight broke out after a hearing in which the judge postponed a "Stand Your Ground" hearing, which is the defense being used by Jayson Clair.

James Parker, 52; James Kun, 44 and Jeremy Milyon, 23, have all been arrested by police and are now at the Osceola County Jail.

Escaped Delaware Prisoner Jeremiah Marcelle Caught In Merrit Island

Police have arrested 29-year-old Jeremiah Marcelle at the Merritt Island Mall in Brevard County. Marcelle is a Delaware prisoner who escaped by not returning to the Sussex Community Corrections Center while out on a pass. Marcelle was being held for criminal non-support.

Authorities in Delaware said this is the second time he has escaped.

Torrential Rains Flood Escambia County Jail; Power And Air Conditioning Knocked Out

The low pressure system that has sat over Florida for the last week has triggered widespread rain throughout the state and in Escambia County where the first floor of the county jail was flooded. The parking lot of the Sheriff's department was flooding with several police vehicles sitting with water up to the hoods of the car.

The torrential rains causing the flooding have also knocked out power and air conditioning, creating sweltering conditions inside the jail for inmates.
