U.S. Supreme Court Indicates It May Allow Wiretapping Lawsuit Against NSA To Go Forward

The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments about the secretive wire tapping lawsuit filed against the NSA chief, James R. Clapper, by the ACLU and Amnesty International.

In oral arguments, several of the justices said "harm" had been done or that it was reasonable to assume that harm had been done as a result of the NSA using its broad wiretapping powers given to it by Congress.

Brawl At The Osceola County Courthouse Leads To 3 Being Arrested Over Stand Your Ground Law

Kissimmee, Fla. -

Just outside of an Osceola County courtroom a fight broke out between family and supporters of Jayson Clair, who is facing first-degree murder charges in the deaths of two brothers outside of a bar; and family and friends of the Kun brothers.

The fight broke out after a hearing in which the judge postponed a "Stand Your Ground" hearing, which is the defense being used by Jayson Clair.

James Parker, 52; James Kun, 44 and Jeremy Milyon, 23, have all been arrested by police and are now at the Osceola County Jail.

Welcome To July... And 150 News Laws That Go Into Effect In Florida

Well it's July 1st, Sunday. In case you have no plans for today, the State of Florida has provided ample reading opportunities, in the form of 150 new laws that take effect today.

Some are fairly routine like the state's annual budget, currently at $69.9 billion, and others more controversial, like state Senator Gary Siplin, a democrat of Orlando, who successfully saw though a law called "inspirational messages". It does not include prayer or biblical readings, as thus a lawsuit is hanging over the state and local school boards. Siplin said he is confident the law is constitutional.

Florida Sued Over New Law Banning Companies Who Do Business In Cuba Or Syria

Miami, Fla. -

Florida based construction company Odebrecht USA has filed suit against Florida over a new law that prevents government agencies from hiring companies that have done business with Cuba or Syria.

State republican's overwhelmingly support the law which is to take effect July 1st.

Odebrecht USA is arguing in their suit that only the federal government can set foreign policy and has the right to regulate commerce, both of which as clauses in the U.S. Constitution.
