Wanted Mississippi Couple Arrested In Ocala Florida

Police in Ocala have arrested 2 wanted persons from Mississippi, 32-year-old Gary Sneed and Holly Morrison.

An FHP trooper stopped to help what he thought was a stranded motorist when he ran the tags and discovered the vehicle was stolen.

Sneed is wanted in Miss. for failing to report to his probation officer and Morrison was being sought for car theft and other unrelated warrants.

79 Year Old Woman Crashes Into Target While Receiving Driving Tips

A 79 year old practicing to get her driver’s license restored confused the gas for the brake pedals and crashed into a Target on Thursday. The Ocala woman Norma Joan was receiving driving tips from her pastor when the incident occurred.

Joan told officers that she had her licenses for 50 years before it was taken away for medical reasons. The driver was cited with driving with a license suspended or revoked. The Passenger Pastor Holsapple was cited for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive his vehicle.

Police Looking For Krystle Duarte Of Ocala After Stealing TV From Walmart

Police in Ocala are searching for 24-yeara-old Krystle Duarte after she was caught stealing a 46" Sony flat screen TV from Walmart and attempted to steal a second one.

According to police, Duarte changed clothes and went back inside Walmart a second time attempting to steal another TV when she was confronted by the store's security guard. That's when she hit the security guard and fled say police.

She is being sought for grand retail theft and one count of resisting a merchant and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Vlinda York Files First Meningitis Lawsuit In Florida Over Tainted Medicine

Marion County resident, 62-year-old Vlinda York has filed the first lawsuit in Florida over the tainted medicine she was injected with made by the New England Compounding Center.

According to her attorney, York was admitted to the hospital in September and spent nearly a week in intensive care. She is now taking anit-fungal medicine which she said is very hard on her body.

York's attorney, John Piccan, said the NECC was negligent and that York is suing for $15,000, but says the actual final number may be much higher.

Police Release Identify Of Suspect In Miami Beach Killing Of Robert Lakatos

Miami Beach, Fla. -

Police in Miami Beach have named Pedro Exposito as the suspect they say shot and killed 16-year-old Robert Lakatos during a robbery gone wrong on Miami Beach.

Police say they believe Exposito is somewhere in Central Florida after being spotted in Citrus and Marion counties and going by the name "Mike".

Police say that after several leads fell through they decided to release the name of the suspected killer in hope of getting public help to locate Exposito.

Mother Robs Wal-Mart, Gets Caught, Leaves Baby Behind In Order To Escape

Ocala, Fla. -

A mother attempting to rob a Wal-Mart store escaped by leaving her baby behind according to Ocala police. They say Allison Niemeyer and her sister, Laura, were at the Wal-Mart store on Silver Springs Blvd attempting to get away with stolen merchandise when the store's loss prevention officer attempted to store the duo.

2 Men Are Wanted After Attacking Mannequins At A Belk Store In Ocala, 1 Had it's Neck Broken

Ocala, Fla. -

Two man are wanted for attacking a couple of mannequins at a Belk department store in Ocala just before it closed.

Video surveillance show the men attacking a mannequin while vandalizing the Belk store in Ocala's Paddock Mall.

The men kicked and jumped on the mannequin repeatedly before one of them turned to another mannequin and attacked it too, breaking its neck.

It was said that neither men seemed to care that they had just broken the neck of a mannequin as they jumped into a pile of clothes.

Newly hired CEO of Ocala Health Systems died in plane crash

Ocala Health System newly hired CEO Paul Allen Golson dies before taking charge of hospital. Golson died yesterday when his Cessna 340a crashed just south of Ocala in Marion County. Golson had contacted the airports tower at 12:26 pm saying he was landing with no indications of problems however the crash occurred shortly after that transmission. Golson’s wife survived with non life threatening injuries and transported to a hospital. The NTSB is investigating with no initial cause of the crash indicated at this time.

Police Search For Missing Ocala Teen Katelynn Marie Sargent, Thought To be Heading Towards Orlando

Ocala, Fla. -

Police in Ocala are searching for a missing teenager, Katelynn Marie Sargent, 17, after she failed to show up for school. Police think she was picked up from her home by an unknown person and may be between St. Augustine and Port Orange, heading for Orlando. She was last seen Monday.

Marion County Sheriff's Department are asking anyone who might have information on her whereabouts to call 352-572-4643.

Marion County Suspected Rapist Michael Alan Frye Makes First Appearance, Gets No Bond

Marion County, Fla -

37 year old Michael Alan Frye made his first appearance this morning after being arrested yesterday by a special task force and is charged in the rape of at least 3 women, and suspected in 2 others. Judge Steve Rogers denied Frye bond saying there was probable cause for the charges and that he can have another bond hearing sometime later.

The judge appointed a public attorney after he said he was unemployed and had only $40 to his name.

Frye will be arraignment Friday Nov 22nd, 2012.
