15 Year Old Jordyn Howe Charged With Manslaughter In School Bus Shooting In Homestead

Homestead, Fla. -

Police in Homestead have charged 15-year-old Jordyn Alexander Howe in the shooting on a school bus yesterday which killed 13 year-old Lourdes Guzman-DeJesus.

Howe attended Somerset Academy Silver Palms. After questioning Howe, police spokesman Detective Roy Rutland said Howe was "remorseful". Detective Rutland went on to say that after the preliminary investigation, it appears the shooting was an accident.

13-Year-Old Girl Shot To Death On School Bus In Homestead

Miami, Fla. -

A 13 year-old girl, Lourdes Guzman, has been shot on a school bus in Homestead, just south of Miami. She was airlifted to Miami Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The suspected shooter, another student on the bus has been taken into custody as the rest of the students have been taken to the police station for interviews.

Also on board were seven other students that attend a charter school, including the victims 7-year-old sister.

The school has brought in grief counselors for students once they return to school.

Naked Man Gunned Down By Police While Eating Another Man's Face

A naked man was killed by police in Miami today as he was trying to eat another man’s face. The drama unfolded at 2:00 pm today when a series of gunshots erupted on the MacArthur Causeway near 13th st, just south of the Miami Herald’s building.

When officers approached the naked man he was in the process chewing on the other mans head. An officer ordered the attacker to stop but when he refused to back down the man was shot. Remarkably the suspect did not stop trying to eat the other man’s face and the officer was forced to continue firing shooting a dozen bullets.

Occupy Miami camp closed down

Police forcefully removed several dozen Occupy Miami protesters through a downtown settlement on Tuesday night. Wearing riot gear and beating batons on their shields the police cleared out the protest esters that had setup camp at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center and tore down the makeshift dwellings on site. There was only one alleged instance of violence between law enforcement and the protesters that has yet to be confirmed. Only one arrest was made when the person identifying himself as a photographer for a website refused to move upon police order.

Abandonded horses found in infamous horse slaughtering C9 Basin

Four horses were found neglected and emaciated at the C9 Basin in Northwest Miami-Dade County. The horses were found among tires and toxic waste eating on anything they could feed on in a field that that looked like a dumping ground according to Animal Recovery Mission. When the mission discovered the horses in distress police were notified immediately. By Tuesday names and ages for two of the horses were found by tattoos that are typically found on racehorses identifying their age and name.

South Florida Mother Kenia Bosque Tries To Sell her Baby for $7,000; Denied Bond in Jail

Miami, Fla. -

A south Florida mother, Kenia Bosque, was denied bond today after she was arrested for trying to sell her eight month old baby for $7,000.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Monroe County Sheriff's Department executed a sting operation after gathering evidence including recorded phone calls that she was financially in trouble and needed the cash.

Bosque has two other children and they have been placed in the custody of relatives until a court hears the case. She is currently being held in the Miami-Dade County jail.

The Destination Resorts Bill Could Bring Full Gambling to Miami Area

Full casinos could be coming to South Florida, complete with resorts, convention space, high stakes poker, along with other games such as craps, blackjack, slot machines and more. The bill would also include billions of dollars in new investments for shops and restaurants.

The Destination Resorts Bill, HB 487, was filed by Rep. Erik Fresen, R-Miami, and Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff, R-Fort Lauderdale and would allow new casinos to open in Miami-Dade and Broward counties and end the Seminole Indian tribe from having to pay $250 million a year to the state.
