United Begins Flight With 787 Dreamliner From Houston To Newark

United Airlines has announced that it will begin flying this week its news Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Houston to Newark, then to Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver and San Francisco in order to rank up 100 flight hours required by the FAA for final certification.

The proving flights will also include a trip to Amsterdam and Tokyo once the domestic flgihts are completed, along with simulated mechancical emergencies and flight diversions.

The FAA requires significantly more fligth hours for the 787 because it is the first one in the United States.

Lot Airlines Flight #12 had to make a crash landing or emergency landing depending on how you view it.  After departing from Newark airport the crew later discovered they were unable to lower the landing gear.  After circling for an hour, they elected to dump their remaining fuel and make a belly landing without landing gear.

In another line of blunders by TSA Agents, this one comes from Newark Liberty International Airport, a New York City area airport.

A female lawyer arrived in Ireland after leaving Newark to find a note on her bag inspection ticket that read "Get your freak on girl". The note was an apparent reference to an adult toy that was also found in her checked bag.

New York City Area Airports To Re-Open Monday Morning

New York City -

Officials have said the area's 3 major airports will reopen Monday morning. Following the closure due to hurricane Irene, all of the area's airports closed Saturday at 12 noon. None have reported any significant damage.

Flights will be limited at first as airlines bring airplanes back into the area and seats will be limited if you have not already been rebooked.

Airlines have asked that passengers check online to see if their flight is operating and if it is on time before going to the airport.
