Twitter Gives Court 3 Months of Occupy Wall Street Tweets Related To Brooklyn Bridge Protest

Twitter caved in and has given a New York court three months of tweets made by Malcolm Harris related to the Brooklyn Bridge protests organized by Occupy Wall Street in an effort to avoid steep fines and other penalties.

Judge Matthew Sciarrino Jr.'s ordered Twitter to give the court the records to which Twitter declined arguing they do not own the tweets and it is private information owned by the person tweeting. Sciarrino dismissed that claim and ordered the tweets be handed over or that Twitter would be held in contempt and face steep penalties.

Occupy Orlando sets sights on Tallahassee

On January 10, Occupy representatives from all over the state will be descending on Tallahassee to present a list of grievances to the first legislative session.

The list was compiled during the People’s Convention of Florida hosted by Occupy Orlando in December and includes over 50 different ideas and solutions presented by several members of the Occupy movement within the state of Florida.

“It was really great to see groups of citizens sitting around outside (Orlando) City Hall discussing a list of grievances,” organizer Valerie Cepero said.

Occupy Orlando protesters demonstrated outside of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer's home Sunday night in an effort to get him to stop the eviction planned for the group in a park near Lake Ivanhoe in downtown Orlando.

The city has issued eviction orders similar to other cities like Los Angeles, Oakland, New York City, and Washington D.C.

Occupy Demonstrators Arrested in D.C., Oregon & Tennessee For Blocking Roads, Building Wooden Structures

Park police in the national capital along with police in Nashville, TN and Portland, OR arrested Occupy protesters over the weekend.

In Washington, D.C., Occupy protesters began building a wooden building in the park and Park police gave them an hour to begin dismantling it. After protesters failed to begin tearing it down after several hours police moved in and arrested those inside the structure and tore down the impromptu building.

Occupy Wall Street, OWS, has seen its numbers grow exponentially, in terms of offshoot supporting groups around the U.S. and the world, the amount of money it is raising, and the varied interest groups now supporting it.

Today has seen a large demonstration of the "Occupy" groups around the world demonstrating and marching in various cities, over 800 are planned just for Monday, Today.

Comprehensive Poll Into Occupy Wall Street & Tea Party Show Americans Favor Occupy Wall Street by Wide Margin

Both Time Magazine and NBC/Wall Street Journal have released recent poll figures that show the Tea Party is out and Occupy Wall Street (OWS) is in.

In the polls, Americans favored the main messages of Occupy Wall Street; that the gap between rich and poor has grown too large; that taxes should be raised on the rich; that execs responsible for the meltdown should be prosecuted. This view is shared by a large majority. Also telling is that only 23% said they had no opinion, which means the thorny issues have made their way into the mainstream lives of average Americans.

Occupy Wall Street Movements Spread to Florida Cities

Miami, Fla -

Occupy Wall Street protesters are gaining support from the spread of its movement across the country and also in Florida. The loosely organized protest movement has gained support and momentum recently with labor unions and some democrats coming out to support these groups both at protest sites and with public announcements.

Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando and Tampa all have an Occupy protest movement and each have already had a march or staged an event.

700 Protesters Arrested in New York City; Protest Group 'Occupy Wall Street' Camps Out in Financial District for 2 Weeks

Police arrested nearly 700 protesters as they marched over the Brooklyn Bridge from New York City's Financial District. Police said they warned the protesters to say off the roadways, however some protesters said they did not hear the warning from the back of the group and were lured into the street. The majority were issued citations.

The group, Occupy Wall Street, has been camped out in the Financial District protesting a variety of things including Wall Street and Big Bank greed and the government's environmental policies.
