One Dead And 19 Injured In Rollover Accident On Florida Turnpike

Florida Highway Patrol investigating a rollover accident on Saturday that killed one and injured 19. The accident occurred on the Florida Turnpike near Kenansville which is located the southern Osceola County. A preliminary investigation indicates that at separated tire was the cause for the driving losing control which caused the van to flip several times.

Harry Potter Fans; Sixth Annual Quidditch World Cup Being Held In Kissimmee Saturday

Lifted from the page of Harry Potter the fictional game of Quidditch is to have its six world cup event in Kissimmee on Saturday. The game inspired from the popular book then movie franchise is replicated in the world cup except for the flying brooms.

The game consists of two teams of seven players attempting using four balls and six ringed goals. This year’s event will bring 80 teams worldwide to compete in the event.

Henry Gonzalez Galay Arrested On Manslaughter Charges In Kisismmee Shell Gas Station Shooting

Kissimmee, Fla. -

Police have arrested 20-year-old Henry Gonzalez Galay and charged him with manslaughter in the shooting death of 25-year-old Henry Ortiz Reyes.

According to police, Galay and his sister Maria Galay along with Reyes were at the Shell gas station at 2201 West Columbia Avenue when Reyes found a gun in a book bag.

Galay claimed that he tried to take the gun away from Reyes and put his finger over the trigger but instead, accidentally grabbed the trigger and the gun went off hitting Reyes.

Central Florida To Pilot GPS Tracking For Domestic Violence Cases

In the first of kind in the nation Central Florida will pilot the use GPS tracking in domestic violence cases. The pilot which starts on valentines day will only involve certain cases where a permanent injunctions has been filled. Other factors including past history of violent crimes, making death threats, ignoring court orders, substance abuse, mental illness, suicidal or homicidal thoughts and obsessive or controlling behavior.

Mormon Church May Cause Delay In Florida Railway

A Mormon church may put the brakes on the $1.5 Billion train from South Florida to Orlando International Airport. The land in question was once owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. In 1965 the land was given by the church to the Expressway Authority under the condition that it be used for a “limited access toll road”.

11 Week old Blind Puppy In Kissimmee Needs Loving Home

The Osceola County Animal Services is trying to find someone who can adopt an 11 week old blind puppy.

Animal workers said Stevie looks normal, and his eyes appear normal, but in fact he is blind.

it was first noticed when he was younger and was separated from his siblings, he would cry and put his nose in the air in an effort to find them.

Animal services said they are hoping someone will adopt Stevie, and that he has special needs. The adopted family must be willing to allow on-site inspection of the home, and have a fenced yard.

Reality Star Michael Ward Arrested At His Own House Party

Reality TV star Michael Andrew Ward was arrested at his St. Cloud home for illegally selling alcohol. The arrest came after Ward hosted a party with several hundred in attendance. There were complaints from neighbors about not only the alcohol use but claims of illegal drug usage as well. Ward does not have a liquor license issued by the Department of Business and Professional Regulations which is required by anyone who sells alcoholic products.

2 Osceola County Teachers Arrested After Burning Student In Face With Lighter

Kissimmee, Fla. -

Two Osceola County school teachers have been arrested on child abuse charges after police say they burned a student in the face with a cigarette lighter.

Bianca Vacek, 51, and Thomas Vacek, 53 both taught at Poinciana High School and were married.

Biance is facing charges of aggravated domestic child abuse, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting without violence while her husband Thomas has been charged with failure to report child abuse and resisting arrest without violence.

Osceola County School Teacher Lillian Gomez Fired For Putting Hot Sauce On Disabled Kids Crayons

Kissimmee, Fla. -

The Osceola County School Board has voted unanimously to fire Lillian Gomez, a teacher who worked with special needs students.

The decision comes after a previous administrative committee recommended that Gomez keep her job.

During the investigation, Gomez admitted to putting hot sauce on some crayons used by special needs students in an attempt to stop them from eating the wax based crayons.
