Power Outages Hit Downtown Orlando

Orlando, Fla. -

A power outage has occurred in downtown Orlando and is also affecting nearby areas. The outage stretches about 1 mile out from downtown Orlando.

So far crews are trying to stop it from escalating and restore power. OUC says they do not know why this happened and are investigating the event.

OUC To Build Small Solar Plant In East Orange County

Orlando Utilities Commission has decided to build a solar power plant, consisting of a 5.9-Megawatt solar photovoltaic (PV) array, in east Orange County near its coal-fired power plant. The new plant will also be used to test how to large scale solar projects impact the electrical grid.
