World Trade Center Fire Alarm On 88th Floor Was False Alarm

New York City -

Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the World Trade Center's 88th floor just before 8:00am this morning.

After responding, officials realized it was a false alarm and mistaken for someone welding. Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns the site, said the fire report was called in by a member of the public.

Last week the new WTC's 104th floor was being constructed with a beam lifted into place that was signed by President Obama.
