Mid-Air Collision Almost Happened At Washington's Reagan National Airport

There was a near miss involving three airplanes at Washington's Regan National Airport on Tuesday. All three planes were regional commuter planes for U.S. Airways witn 192 passengers and crew on board and the air traffic controller is being blames for the incidnet by the FAA.

According to the FAA, the airport changed the direction for take offs and landings as winds shifted but failed to communicate the information to an inbound plane who subsequently came within 12 second of hitting two departing planes taking off from the airport.
