Shooting Victim At Chinese Restaurant Died; -Shooter Said She Didn't Speak English Well Enough

Orange County, Fla. -

The victim in the Chinese Restaurant shooting at the China Wok on North Pine Hills Road had died after being shot in the head. The shooter said she did not speak good enough English, so he shot her in the head said sheriff deputies.

The incident happened yesterday around 9:00pm and police brought in K-9 units and are still searching the area this morning.

There were several other customers in the restaurant when the shooting happened and police are still trying to figure out why the suspect shot the employee of the restaurant during the armed robbery.

Employees Of Olive Garden, Longhorn, Red Lobster File Suit Againt Darden Claiming They Were Underpaid

A federal lawsuit in Miami has been filed against Darden Restaurants (headquartered in Orlando Florida) by employees of Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn, and The Capital Grille over a pay dispute. Darden owns those restaurants among others.

In the suit, employees claim they were unpaid and are seeking back wages and interests plus attorney's fees.

The suit covers those who worked for the restaurant chains from August 2009 to present. Darden is the national largest full service restaurant operator with over 2,000 locations and 180,000 employees.

Car Crashes Into Fiddler's Green Irish Pub In Winter Park

Winter Park, Fla. -

A car crashed into a popular Winter Park Irish pub Wednesday early morning after witnesses say the woman driver was on her mobile phone and failed to negotiate the curve at Fairbanks where N. Orange Ave and S. Pennsylvania also meet at an abnormal intersection.

Witnesses say she was also speeding at the time she lost control and slammed into the front entrance of Fiddler's Green, knocking out a column. Employees were inside at the time.

No injuries have been reported and police say they do not think alcohol was involved.

Tuna Used In Sushi Being Recalled Across Nation Due To Salmonella

The Moon Marine USA Corp. of Cupertino, Calif., also known as MMI, is recalling 58,828 pound of yellowfin tuna used by sushi restaurants across the country following an FDA report showing there has been an outbreak of salmonella in 21 states and the District of Columbia.

The potentially contaminated fish is used in sushi and sashimi dishes at sushi restaurants and grocery stores and was sold under the label Nakaochi Scrape AA or AAA, though tracking it down has been difficult due to the number of middlemen and distributors involved.

Shooting In DeLand Overnight; Employee Killed At Main Street Grill

DeLand, Fla. -

Police were called to Main Street Grill in DeLand last night at about 11:15pm and found an employee shot to death by an unknown gunman in what appeared to be a robbery. THe Restaurant is located on New York Ave.

So far there are no suspects, no clues, and police have no leads as they begin their preliminary investigation.
