As the rover Curiosity continues its mission on Mars, it has stumbled upon a shiny object on the surface of Mars while doing drilling samples.

So far no official word from NASA as to what it could be, but the internet and social media sites have been busy coming up with ideas.

Here's some of them;

-A tiny spy camera from aliens in a distant galaxy

-Something Arnold Schwarzenegger left behind in 1990 while uncovering his past.

-Car Keys

-USB connector

-Foil from a Gyro wrapper

Pasadena, CA -

NASA's newest rover, Curiosity, is expected to land on Mars tonight at 10:31pm pacific time in our continued search to what happened to Mars' water.

The rover Curiosity cost $2.5 billion and is the size of an automobile, by far the largest rover NASA has sent to Mars so far.

"It's a big science goal. We're not just looking for water anymore," said California Institute of Technology geologist John Grotzinger, the lead mission scientist.

NASA Releases "FULL CIRCLE" Image of Mars Taken From Its Rover "Opportunity"

NASA has released a full-circle image of mars saying "next best thing to being there". The images are a compilation of 817 images taken from the rover Opportunity during the Martian winter using its panoramic camera (Pancam).

The rover has been on Mars for 3,006 days as of today. NASA said the image is presented in false color to emphasize differences between materials in the scene.
