Soccer Star David Beckham Announces Retirement After This Season

International Soccer start David Beckham has announced that this will be his final year playing professional soccer. Beckham currently plays for the L.A. Galaxy in California.

"I wouldn't have achieved what I have done today without my family," said Beckham in a statement. "I'm grateful for my parents' sacrifice, which made me realise my dreams. I owe everything to Victoria and the kids, who have given me the inspiration and support to play at the highest level for such a long period."

Miami Marlins Manager Ozzie Guillen Suspended After Complementing Fidel Castro And Saying He Loves Him

Manager Ozzie Guillen of the Miami Marlins has been suspended for five games effective immediately after he told Time Magazine last week that he loves Fidel Castro, the Cuban dictator, and respects him for staying in power for as long as he did.

An immediate firestorm erupted over his comments, though he has since apologized saying that he feels very bad for what he said saying that he "does not love Fidel Castro."

West Coast beats out East Coast in NBA All-Star

After months of anticipation and preparation the NBA All-Star game in Orlando is over with the West Coast taking home the win with a score of 152-149. The game is considered an exhibition game only pitting teams from each coast combined for bragging rights. Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant was MVP scoring 39 points and seven rebounds. "It ranks right up there at the top," Durant said. "I keep saying it, but I'm excited I got it, and I'm glad I get to celebrate this with my family and my teammates and everybody in Oklahoma City. NCAA Just Suspended 8 University of Miami Players Over Booster Scandal

The NCAA has just suspended 8 players at University of Miami over payoffs from a now imprisoned former booster.

They current eight players will be suspended for at least one game and in order to become eligible to play again, must repay the value of the prohibited gifts they received from Nevin Shapiro.
