Earl K Wood To Leave Tax Collectors Officer In January After 48 Years

Long time Orange County Tax Collector, 48 year old Earl K. Wood, a Democrat, says he is not running for re-election for tax collector. The position pays $153,082 a year and that has drawn some recent criticism. Some from those of use who pay him every year to renew our tags, and some from those who want his job.
Wood says he's done all of his duties and made all the big decisions, but admit recently he has had mobility problems as he ages. Wood said he will support his top deputy, Kelly Goodwin, if she decided to run, though she has made no decision yet.
