Letter To President Obama Contained Suspicious Substance Says Secret Service

Washington, D.C. -

The Secret Service has intercepted a letter that was addressed to President Barack Obama yesterday that contained a yet to be identified "suspicious substance" according to a press spokesperson at the agency.

The letter is being moved to a secure location where it will be investigated.

The area in which the letter was found (a mail screening center) is being searched to ensure no dangerous substances contaminated the area and the worker who made the discovery has undergone decontamination as a safety precaution.

Militants Fire Rockets At Resort Town Of Eilat Israel From Egypt's Sinai Peninsula

Jerusalem, Israel -

Militants fired rockets into the Israeli resort town of Eilat Wednesday. The rockets were launched by militants from Egypt's Sinai peninsula.

There were no reports of injuries or serious damage.

After former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was deposed 2011, Egypt's ability to control the Sinai peninsula has been less than ideal as militants have been able to operate with near impunity.

Israeli tourist were taken hostage recently before being released after negotiations between Egypt and nomadic tribesmen in the area.

'Family Guy' Episode Depicting Deaths At Boston Marathon Pulled By Fox

Fox has removed a recent episode of "Family Guy' that depicts people being killed at the Boston Marathon from its website and on Hulu.com

In the episode, the main character, Peter Griffin, is asked by sports announcer Bob Costas about his performance at the marathon. A flashback shows Peter mowing down runners with his car.

"I'll tell ya, Bob, I just got in my car and drove it," Griffin says. "And when there was a guy in my way, I killed him."

Later he befriends a terrorist who was plotting to blow up a bridge, though Peter didn't know about those plans.

Toxic Ricin Letter Sent To Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker

Washington, D.C. -

Federal authorities say they have recovered a letter sent to U.S. Sen Roger Wicker (R-MS) that contained the toxin known as ricin on Tuesday.

The incoming mail facility for the U.S. Capital building and congressional office has been shut.

The substance was first detected on a letter at a remote processing facility that was bound for congressional offices and is under going decontamination.

Boston Marathon Bombing Aftermath And Investigation

In the aftermath of yesterday's bombing of the annual marathon in Boston in which 3 are dead so far and another 170 injured, some critically, debris litters the area as investigators hunt down clues, even the smallest and least likely ones, in an effort to piece together how the bombing could have happened in what was suppose to be a secure area.

Boston Marathon Bombing Kills Several, Injures At Least 170 More

Today (Monday) at the Boston Marathon two bombs exploded killing at least three now and injured 170 more, the youngest an 8 year old boy.

A video from the Boston Globe shows two bombs going off in succession in the crowd near the finish line as racer were completing the race at about 2:50pm.

Of the 170+ victims who were injured, at least 15 are in critical condition, and 60 remain hospitalized as of April 19th (Friday).

U.S. Diplomat And U.S. Soldiers Killed In Afghan Car Bomb Explosion

There has been a car bomb explosion in the Zabul province of Afghanistan, killing three U.S. Soldiers, and a U.S. diplomat, Anne Smedinghoff (25), and a civilian Defense Department official who has not been identified yet according to the State Department and other reports.

Smedinghoff just recently acted the Secretary of State John Kerry's embassy guide and local liaison on his recent trip to the country.

Also killed was an Afghan doctor, and according to NATO officials, Provincial governor Mohammad Ashraf Nasery was in the convoy, but was unharmed.

U.S. Army Veteran Arrested Aftering Fighting For Al-Qaeda Linked Terrorist Group

U.S. officials have arrested 30-year old Eric Harroun on charges of conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction and conspiracy to provide aid to a terrorist group.

The FBI said it arrested Harroun at Washington's Dulles Airport when he returned to the United States after allegedly fighting with Al Nusra, a terrorist organization. He did not have his American passport, claiming that he lost it in the fighting in Syria.

While Al Nusra is just one of many groups fighting against the Bashar al-Assand regime in Syria, the State Department has labeled it a terrorist organization.

Fears Grow That Palestinians May Start Third Intifada Against Israel; Riots Continue In West Bank

Israeli civil defense and Israeli Defense Forces have been in high alert, preparing for the possibility that West Bank Palestinians will start a third Intifada, or 'uprising' in Arabic.

The number of riots have increased in the West Bank since the conclusion of Israel's Operation Pillar of Defense in Gaza. Recent riots, however, haven taken on a more serious and deadly aspect, coupled with hunger strikes by Palestinian prisoners serving time for crimes and terrorism.
