Starbucks To Open New Stores At Disney World's Magic Kingdom And Epcot

Starbucks and Disney World has announced that they will be opening new Starbucks location inside the Magic Kingdom and Epcot in a bid to give guests what they want and boost revenue.

Starbucks already operated a store at Universal Studios 'City Walk' in Orlando and has seen overwhelming success.

The new locations inside Disney Parks will be where the Main Street Bakery currently is inside the Magic Kingdom and where Fountain View currently is inside Epcot.

Disney's Epcot Park Opens New Tutto Gusto Restaurant As Part Of Its Italian Pavilion Renovation

Lake Buena Vita, Fla. -

Disney World's Epcot has opened its new Tutto Gusto restaurant and a new wine cellar as part of the Italian Pavilion's renovation at the World Showcase Lagoon section of the theme park. Epcot is one of four major theme parks located at Disney World, the others being the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

Chef Joachim Splichal, founder of Patina Restaurant Group, was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony while guests got a chance to go inside for sparkling water, a little bubbly and the chance to explore Tutto Gusto.

Disney to allow facial hair for cast-memebers

In a change to a to a long standing policy Walt Disney World’s American theme park employee’s will now be able to have facial hair. Starting today facial hair no longer than a quarter of a inch will be permitted. Furthermore the theme park has instituted a “casual Friday” dress for staff that do not directly interact with the public. The change comes after the acceptance of mustaches in 2000 and the abolishment of women requiring skirts to wear pantyhose in 2010. Restrictions in regards to visible tattoos, body piercings, and unnatural hair colors are still in place.

Wet 'N Wild to open new kids playground.

Orlando Water Park Wet ‘N Wild announced Friday the addition of new water playground the first addition to the park in over four years. The park which is known for thrilling teens and adults with rides such as the Black Hole and Brain Wash said that they are looking to broaden their experience for families by offering something for kids. The new section which is set to replace the previous Kids section will be more than 60 feet tall, have two pools, 17 slides, 100 soakers, jet waterfalls, water cannons and a beach themed seating area.

Universal Studios Orlando Announces It Will Close Jaws Attraction

Orlando, Fla. -

Universal Studios Orlando has announced that it will close the Jaws attraction, one of the original attractions at the theme park when it opened in 1990.

The popular Central Florida theme park is currently owned by NBC Universal.

In the announcement, park officials said they are closing it to tear it down and make way for a new attraction but would not indicate what the new attraction would be. Theme parks routinely try to keep new projects a secret until it nears its launch as part of their overall efforts to stay on top of other competition.

New Theme Park Rides on Display at Orange County Convention Center For Annual IAAPA Expo

Orlando, Fla. -

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo is holding its annual demonstration at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando all this week, Monday through Friday.

Full size working rides are on display and running to highlight the attractions. Attendees that work for theme parks around the world are here and will hopefully see something they like and add it to their line up.

Disney World Fined $69,000 By OSHA Over Employee Death

Orlando, Fla. -

Back in March of this year, Russell Sherry Roscoe, a Disney World Orlando employee, died from head injuries suffered from a fall from the ride Primeval Whirl. The work area in question was a raised platform with no side railings.

OSHA has fined Disney World in Orlando Florida $69,000 for failure to provide employees with an environment free of recognized hazards, for failure to use protective equipment and repeat offense of having open-side platforms that were not guarded by railings.

The ride is due to re-open soon with new safety measures implemented.
