Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Broadcasters Over FCC Fines For Indecency

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of television broadcasters over fines that the FCC levied against them for brief and isolated profanity and sexual content during prime time television hours. In an 8-0 vote, the justices said the FCC's policies against "fleeting" expletives and nudity were vague and inconsistently applied.

ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC were all partied to the suit challenging decades old FCC regulations and said it was a victory for the First Amendment.

Ashton Kutcher Signs Deal To Renew TV Comedy Two And A Half Men With Warner Brothers

Actor Ashton Kutcher has signed a new deal with Warner Brothers TV to renew his contract for the popular Two and a Half Men television show. Kutcher will reportedly be making approximately $775,000 per episode, up from $700,000 he made last year.

Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen as the main character following Sheen being let go due to his drug use and negative comments about the show's producer, Chuck Lorre. Lorre is also responsible for other popular shows such as Dharma and Greg and The Big Bang Theory.

American Idol Contestant Jermaine Jones To Be Kicked Off Show For Lying About Arrest Record And Warrants

TV show American Idol signing contestant Jermaine Jones will be kicked off the show Wednesday night for apparently concealing that he had been arrested two times last year and has active warrants for his arrest.

Producers of the show said that they had received information that they looked into further and concluded he had been less than upfront during his application process.

In the episode to air Wednesday night, he will be removed from the TV contest.

iTV Makes Other Television Makers Scramble, Production To Start In Feb 2012

Apple's iTV has been swirling around for a while now but it looks as if it is finally becoming a reality. Sharp Electronics is retooling a plant in Japan under an Apple contract and TV makers have began scrambling to figure out what's in store for them.

Sadly, or not, a recent poll by the electronics industry show that if or when the iTV came out, the iTV would surpass sales of even the best known makers like Sony and Sharp within 1 year. All other TV manufacturers would be at least 12 months behind the curve in the best case scenario, but more likely 2 years.

MythBusters Experiment Goes Wrong, Cannonball Crashes Through Family Home, Lands In Minivan

The popular TV show on the Discovery Channel had a serious oops when an experiment they were recording went wrong, and a cannonball went crashing through a family home and landed in a minivan.

MythBusters is produced by Beyond Productions and was at the Alameda County Sheriff's Department bomb disposal range testing an experiment that involved cannonballs landing in large tanks of water.
