Police Arrest Daylen Holloman Of Palm Coast After Stripping At 7-11 Claiming To Be A Monkey

Daytona Beach, Fla. -

Police in Daytona Beach have arrested 20-year-old Daylen Holloman after he allegedly stripped naked in front of customers at the 7-11 store on North Oleander Avenue and is being charged with indecent exposure.

According to police, Holloman called the police from the 7-11 but when they arrived he said he didn't know why he called saying all he knows is that he is a monkey.

After police told him he was human because he's wearing human clothes, he stripped, going against officers instructions to remain clothed.

Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of Daytona Office Building

Daytona Beach, Fla. -

Authorities were forced to evacuate an office building in Daytona Beach earlier this morning after someone made a bomb against the 5/3rd back located in the building.

Employees who worked at the building, located at 444 Seabreeze Blvd, had to wait outside as bomb sniffing dogs swept through the building.

Also in the building are FBI offices.

Wildland Brush Fire Forced U.S. 92 To Close Again

Deland, Fla. -

A brush fire has forced the closure of U.S. Hwy 92 from Indian Lake and Kepler Road after the 225 acre fire blew heavy smoke into the area. FHP says I-4 can be used as an alternate route since it is so close and remains open.

The fire has destroyed a shed but so far, has spared houses.

Fire officials say the fire is 75% contained as of Friday, but since then embers were able to skip over the fire lines that has been made.

21 Year Old Surfer Bit By Shark At New Smyrna Beach

Volusia County, Fla. -

Beach patrol has reported a shark bite at the New Smyrna Beach in Volusia County. The victim was a 21-year-old who suffered minor lacerations to the hand according to officials.

Volusia and Brevard counties are the shark bite capital according to research by the University of Florida, with both counties having eight attacks last year alone.

Shooting In Deland Home Kills 1, Injured 2 On South Clara Avenue

Deland, Fla. -

Police have reported that one person is dead and two more injured during a shooting at a home in the 400 block of South Clara Avenue around 3:30am last night.

One man was found dead in the street, another was found inside and the third suffered injuries from a physical altercation.

According to DeLand Deputy Chief Randy Henderson, police have had to respond to incidents at this residence before.

The identities of the victims or a suspect have not been released yet.

No arrests have been made so far and police are still investigating the incident.

2 Swim To Safety After Plane Lands In Water

Overnight an airplane sank in Lake Disston near the Volusia-Flagler county line in central Florida when a plane attempted to land using its water floats when at least one of them did not respond properly and the plane began to sink, according to investigators on the scene of the incident.

Two people managed to swim to safety, the pilot and passenger, Allan and Kathrine Burrows of Port Orange.

Officials say they do not yet know what caused the sinking and they need to recover the plane before they can give more information.

Inmate T'rez Campbell Escapes Volusia County, Believed To Have Fled The State

Daytona Beach, Fla. -

Officials in Volusia County say inmate T'rez Campbell has escaped custody where he was incarcerated at the Volusia County Jail and is it believed that he has left the state.

Campbell had been incarcerated for trafficking in narcotics, resisting an officer, and leaving the scene of a crash and was given a furlough to attend the funeral services of his grandmother.

He was last seen in Orlando on Westmoreland Drive in Orlando.

Officials think Campbell may be in Georgia and are investigating leads and possible connections.

72nd Annual Bike Week Kicks Off In Daytona Beach

Bike week began on Friday touted as the “World’s Biggest Motorcycle Event” in Daytona Beach. The 10 day event is expected to bring over 500,000 people. This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the event in which motorcycle enthusiasts gather from all the over the world.

Bike week give people the opportunity to wear their leathers, shop, and mix with other bikers. Riders of both classic motorcycles like Harley-Davidsons and street bikes like Hondas come together.The event is expected to bring in millions of dollars to the area.

Long Traffic Delays On I-4 And I-95 Getting To Today's Daytona 500

Daytona, Fla. -

Today is the Daytona 500, and there are long traffic delays on both I-4 and I-95 approaching Daytona.

On I-4, Traffic backups begin eastbound before mile marker 118, SR 44. A 2 hours and 40 minute delay is being reported on I-4 from SR 44 to International Speedway in Daytona.

On I-95, motorist are faring better with minimal traffic delays of about 25 minutes from the north to International Speedway.

FHP has requested drivers not going to the Daytona 500 traveling on I-4 use an alternate route.

Twin Engine Cessna Crashes In New Smyrna Beach Pasture

Paul Rood a patent attorney age 56 died on Wednesday when his twin engine Cessna 337 crashed into a pasture in New Smyrna Beach. No one else was in the plane and no injuries on the ground. Rooy had reported a mayday just before the plane crashed.

Witnesses say that the plane’s engines sounded normal just before the crash. The plane clipped a tree and just missed a power line before crashing into a pine tree. The National Safety Transportation Safety board will be investigating the crash.
