American Airlines Reveal New Airplane Livery, First Change In 40 Years

American Airlines has revealed its new livery for the entire AA fleet.

In a written statement, American Airlines CEO Tom Horton wrote, “Our changes on the outside reflect how we’re evolving on the inside. Our new logo and the refreshed exterior of our planes represent more than a change of symbol, but a symbol of change in our path to modernize and innovate.”

The change in livery is the first in 40 years for the airline as it tried to revamp its fleet with newer fuel efficient aircraft and emerge from bankruptcy.

787 Dreamliner Grounded After More Mishaps

The FAA has issued an airworthiness directive grounding all 787 Dreamliners worldwide. 787's can not return to the air until an airline or the plane's maker, Boeing, can prove the batteries and its compartment, are safe.

Two Japanese airlines have grounded their entire Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleets after another mishaps with an ANA plane this time. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner has had several high profile incidents since its debut as the airplane manufacturers newest plane.

World's Safest And Most Dangerous Airlines; New List Comes Out for Period Ending December 2012.

Here's the updated list of the world's safest airlines and the not-so-safe airlines. Not a single U.S. based airline made the top 10 list, but in a positive note, not a single U.S. airline made the bottom 10 of the list either.

The list comes form JACDEC, or Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Center. The list is a compilation of 30 years of data.

Boeing's 787 Dreamliner To Undergo Complete Review By FAA Following High Profile Mishaps

The FAA has ordered a comprehensive review of Boeing's newest aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner following several high profile mishaps. There have been several mechanical incidents which either forced a scheduled flight to be canceled, as in the case of a JAL flight in Seattle, an a United flight in Newark as well as a recent fire onboard a JAL in Boston and a fuel leak on a JAL, also in Boston.

Passenger Tied To Chair On Flight From Iceland To New York

A passenger on a flight from Iceland to New York had to be restrained to his seat using tape. The man allegedly drank so much of his recently bought liquor from the Duty Free Shop in Iceland. The unidentified Iceland Native tried to choke the woman sitting next to him and then scream that the plan was going to crash.

Woman Punches TSA Worker At Orlando International Airport

Orlando, Fla. -

A Korean woman, Hyunjoo Kim, was arrested yesterday after she allegedly grabbed a TSA employee and pushed that employee and slapped another.

The incident started after she underwent a pat-down and was told she can not bring her over-sized lotion bottle past security, at that point the woman became upset and starting yelling and eventually took action against the TSA employees.

The woman was arrested and booked into the Orange County jail in Orlando and has since been released.

Florida Airports Warn of More Delays And Cancellations

Florida's airport have warned travelers of more delays and cancellations at Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale airports. Both Orlando and Miami are classified as very large airports and have significant international traffic as well, though it is the flights to an from the northeast that are being affected due to the storm passing over D.C., Philadelphia, New York and Boston areas.

There are approximately 178 flights a day on average from the northeast to Florida's airports, making it one of the busiest air travel corridors in the world.

JetBlue Delivers Special Card To Funeral of Connecticut Shooting Victim

JetBlue has delivered a card, made by a cousin of 6-year-old Noah Pozner, in time for his funeral. The boy's mother, Victoria, who lived in Washington state could not attend the funeral in time, so her son made a card to be buried with Noah.

After tweeting for suggestions about how to get it there on time, JetBlue responded to her and made arrangements to pick it up and fly it to Connecticut in time so the card could be buried with Noah.

Under Jewish Customs, Noah has to be buried within 24 hours in a wooden coffin, and the coffin had a Star of David on it.

Turkish Airlines Completes Order For 15 Boeing 777-300ER's

Turkish Airlines has completed a deal with Boeing to purchase 15 Boeing 777-300ER's plus an option for five more, in a deal worth an estimated $4.7 billion at list price.

Turkish Airlines currently operates 12 examples of the Boeing 777-300ER's that first started delivery in 2010 and has over 100 Boeing aircraft in its fleet. The airline uses them on long-haul flights.

This deal was first announced in October as a commitment.

Boeing predicts the aviation market's demand for new airplanes will rise between 20 and 30 percent by 2025.

New Reports Shows Details Of U.S. Airways Takeover Bid Of American Airlines

New reports have surfaces that show a few details of the proposed deal U.S. Airways is making in an effort to merge with American Airlines.

American Airlines is currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and had hoped to exit bankruptcy as a stand alone carrier and then deal with any possible merger talks.

But U.S. Airways have lobbied hard to American's creditors and Unions, winning support from several, which is forcing American to at least go through the negotiating process, and the two carriers have previously signed non-disclosure agreements.
