One World Trade Center Official Becomes Largest Tower In Western Hemisphere

Construction works at One World Trade Center in New York City cheered Friday at the completion of the spire that sits atop the building. With the installation of the spire One World Trade Center also known as The Freedom Tower will be the tallest building in the western hemisphere.

The building reaches 1,776 feet in the air eclipsing the Willis Tower in Chicago by 47 feet. The height of the tower is in honor of the year 1776 in which the revolution began between the American colonists and the British Empire.

The tainted food scandal in Europe is growing after pork was found in 'Halal' meant supplied to Leicester schools, this comes after horsemeat was discovered in Britain, Germany and other counties, and in Ikea's Swedish Meatballs.

Halal is the type of food, specifically how it is prepared or the type of food, that is religiously required for Muslims and is similar to Kosher foods for Jewish people but less strict.

Pork is unacceptable and not Halal/kosher for muslims or Jewish people.

YouTube Announces It Will Start Charging To Watch Content

YouTube has announced that it will begin charging a subscription fee to watch some content on the popular streaming video website, which is owned by Google.

Under the plan, viewers will pay about .99 cents to subscribe to one channel each month, YouTube will be offering 53 channels.

YouTube has said it will have a wide variety of channel to choose from, but would not give specifics. One show that is known to be part of the plan is Sesame Street.

Minnesota Closer To Allowing Gay Marriage After House Vote Approves

Minnesota is set to become the nation's 12th state to allow gay marriages after its House voted to approve legislation which will take affect August 1st.

The bill that will allow gay marriages passes the House on a 75-59 vote.

The vote comes just six months after a movement in the state to ban gay marriages by making it unconstitutional failed after unexpected resistance from voters.

Minnesota would be the only midwestern state to allow gay marriages from legislation. Iowa allows it due to a court ruling.

Arizona Jury Finds Jodi Arias Guilty Of Murder

Just minutes ago an Arizona jury has found Jodi Arias guilty of first-degree murder of her former boyfriend Travis Alexander in 2008.

She now faces either life in prison or the death penalty at her sentencing hearing, which has yet to be scheduled.

During the trial prosecutors argued she planned the murder in a jealous rage.

Alexander's body was found having been shot and stabbed multiple times.

At Least 5 Dead After A Container Ship Crashes In Genoa Italy Port

Yesterday the ship Jolly Nero crashed into a control tower at the port of Genoa in Italy, killing at least five people and four more are missing.

The Jolly Nero is a large container ship. Three people are reportedly trapped inside an elevator that fell into the water that provided service to the tower.

The incident occurred during a shift change yesterday at 4:00pm and there were reportedly 14 people inside the control tower.

The Jolly Nero had been leaving port with the help of tug boats when the incident happened, shocking numerous witnesses.

Apple Takes #6 Spot On Fortune 500 List; and is Highest Ranked Tech Company

Apple has managed to get into the top 10 list of the Fortune 500 list of largest corporations. In fact, Apple is now ranked number 6 on the list of 500, and is the highest ranked tech company.

Despite shares of Apple going through a bit of turbulence as the company's stock is down nearly 35% from a high of $700 to $461, Apple's revenue continues to climb, ranking in more than a billion dollars a week in operating profits.

Judge Grants Bail To Friend Of Boston Bomber, Robel Phillipos Ordered To House Arrest

A judge has granted bail to 19-year-old Robel Phillipos after being caught up in the investigation of the Boston Bombings. Phillipos is a friend of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the primary suspect in the Boston Marathon Bombings.

The FBI has accuse Phillipos of lying to investigators about what he might have know about the two alleged suspects in the bombings.

As part of the conditions for bail, Phillipos must wear an electronic ankle monitor and is under house arrest.

Syria Threatens Israel After IAF Strike Saying "All The Options" Are Open

Jerusalem, Israel -

Following the two Israeli IAF airstrikes on Syrian chemical weapons facilities, Syria's leader, Bashar al-Assad, has said that "all the options" are open raising concerns that the Syrian civil war could spill over into Israel.

According to reports, Assad held a security cabinet meeting following the second strike by Israel's IAF which targeted Syria's Fateh-110 missiles, which are precision guided missiles and chemical weapons facilities.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said the attack proved that Israel is collaborating with Syrian rebels.
