Dwight Howard Wants To Sign Deal With L.A. Lakers According To Reports

According to various reports early this morning, Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard is expected to sign a deal with the L.A. Lakers, bringing to a close his outspoken desire to leave Orlando.

The deal, and the details have not been announced yet, but are believed to contain long-term contracts after the 2012-2013 NBA season. Until now, Howard has only indicated he would be willing to sign a long term extension with the Brooklyn Nets.

NBC To Broadcast Record Amount Of Olympic Games, Live Over The Internet; 5,535 Hours On 40 Streams

The Olympics start July 27 and will be broadcast on NBC and its affiliates along with live streaming video of complete games on the internet. In all, the network will broadcast 3,000 hours over the internet using up to 40 concurrent streams at NBCOlymics.com and the remainder over TV stations like NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC.

Trial Of Jerry Sandusky Underway, Accused Of Sexually Abusing Children

The trial of Jerry Sandusky has started today with prosecutors making their opening statements. Sandusky is on trial for multiple counts sexually abusing children, children prosecutors say he found at the charity he founded called "The Second Mile".

Senior Deputy Attorney General Joseph McGettigan III told a 12 member jury that San dusky was a serial predator who took advantage of fatherless children or those with unstable home lives and sexually abused them for years. The jury is made up of seven woman and five men.

Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood To Stand Trial For Beating Giants Fan Bryan Stow At Dodger Stadium

Concluding a six day preliminary hearing, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has ordered Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood to stand trial for the beating of San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow at Dodger Stadium. The beating left Stow nearly dead, and he remains in a therapeutic facility still with low prospects that he will ever be able to provide for his two sons again.

Deal To Renovate Citrus Bowl Likely As Orlando And Orange County Make Tenative Agreement

A tentative deal has been struck by the Mayor or Orlando, Buddy Dyer, and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs to renovate the aging 76 year old Citrus Bowl for $175 million. Florida Citrus Sports president Steve Hogan, which runs the sports bowl organization, has said it is needed or the bowl games are in jeopardy of being moved out of Orlando.

In the deal, the two mayors agreed on schedule design and construction plans and will meet again in two weeks to finalize the finances.

Orlando Magic Fire Stan Van Gundy and Push General Manager Otis Smith Out As Well

The Orlando Magic have fired head coach Stan Van Gundy and has decided to part ways with general manager Otis Smith.

Chief Executive Officer Alex Martins of the Orlando Magic was quoted as saying, "The disappointment of getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs these past two seasons played a primary role in our decision."

Martins said a short time ago that he expects to have a new coach in place by the end of June, when the NBA draft begins.

Olympic Flame Lit In Greece; To Travel Around Greece, U.K.

The Olympic Flame was lit today at the birthplace of the ancient games, Olympia Greece, by the high priestess, who used a mirror to focus the mirror and light the flame. From there the flame will travel to the Panathenian Stadium where it will be handed over to the current host of the games that start this summer, London.

Indiana Pacers Players Kyrylo Fesenko and Danny Granger Get Into Confrontation In Orlando Bar

Police in downtown Orlando responded to a disturbance outside of Club 23 early Thursday morning around 2:30am. Video captured at the scene shows that Pacer team member Fesenko apparently bumped into someone who then unleashed an aggressive and loud verbal assault on the 7ft 1 inch player.

Witnesses say Granger then began to charge the restrained by friends. OPD officers from the bike patrol were able to defuse the situation and every walked away.

4 New Orleans Saints Players Suspended by NFL Over Team's Cash-for-Hits Bounty Program

The NFL has suspended four Saints players for their involvement in the teams cash-for-hits bounty program in which they engaged in targeting select opposing team players and caused physical injuries with the intent to remove them from the game by being overly rough and cruel.
