Malware Discovered In Fake Facebook Notices

Cyber security experts are warning Facebook users to be careful opening Facebook emails letting you know of a new notification.

The newest malware going around sends an email to Facebook users notifying them of a new Facebook photo, or that they have been tagged by someone else in a photo.

Users who click on the notification are briefly redirected to an iFrame script that opens users computers to hackers, then quickly send them to an actual Facebook profile. Most users are unaware they have even been infected because the event happens so quickly.

New Smartphone App lets You Record When Police Stop You; Stop Police Abuse, Know Your Rights

A new app for Android smartphones has come out that will allow you to secretly record your encounter with police, and it will send the recording to the ACLU, ensuring police do not tamper or delete the recording. The app is called Police Tape, and is available for download in the Google Play market for Android phones, it is made by the ACLU of New Jersey, and an iPhone version is coming soon.

Internet Doomsday Is July 9th, Many Won't Be Able To Access Internet

The "internet doomsday" as it has been referred to by the FBI, will strike July 9th. That's when the FBI will take down many of the servers it built to protect internet users from the affect of a virus that spread across 4 million computers.

The virus makes a computer unable to look up a DNS, the internet's address book, when a user wants to go to a particular web address. Instead, it sends users to either no website, or to fake website with fake products.

Scientists with CERN at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva believe they have discovered the elusive Higgs-Boson particle during its recent test. The "god" paticle as many have called it is believed to have been present only at the formation of the universe and scientist think by finding it, they will gain a better understanding of our universe as well as many other unknown and yet to be known discoveries.

Blackberry Maker RIM Says It Will Cut 5,000 Job As Part Of Restructuring

In an effort to stem the ever encroaching tide of disappointment, Blackberry maker RIM said it will be starting a new restructuring plan and that 5,000 employees will be laid off as a result.

The smartphone maker has suffered numerous setbacks and product launch failures as it struggled to keep up with Apple's iPhone and Google's Android OS smartphones and tablets.

RIM profits were down again on year-over-year earnings, and losses were higher than analysts expectations of $.07 per share, instead loosing $.30 cents per share.

Google Announced Nexus 7 Tablet At I/O; Says Its For Sale Now

Google has announced at its I/O that the new Nexus 7 is ready for sale now, as expected. Customers can buy it now on Google Play and it will ship starting mid July. Including in the deal is a $25 credit for purchases in the Google Play store, Google's version of Apple's "App Store".

The 7-inch-screen tablet will run Google's latest Android OS, Jelly Bean, and will feature a 1,280-by-800 pixel high-definition screen. Google said the Nexus 7's video "looks stunning."

Apple Tries To Block Release Of Samsung's Galaxy S III By Filing Lawsuit Claiming Patent Infringment

Apple has filed a lawsuit in California requesting an injunction against Samsung's upcoming release of its newest Android based smartphone, the Galaxy S III claiming that Samsung committed at least two patent infringements on Apple technology.

In the suit, Apple claims that Samsung's Galaxy S III clearly infringes on data-tapping and unified search technologies owned by Apple. “It is clear that infringement can be shown with respect to these patents based on the current record”, Apple is quoted as saying in the lawsuit.

SpaceX Succesfully Launches Falcon 9 Rocket To The ISS, Dragon Capsule To Dock In 5 Days

Cape Canaveral, Fla. -

SpaceX has become the first private company to successfully launch a rocket into space, as the Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral at 3:44a.m. SpaceX will now attempt to dock with the International Space Stations, ISS, which if successful, will be another first for a private company.

SpaceX had previously tried to launch but was aborted in the last half second by a computer warning of a small valve problem in one of the nine engines.

US Trade Commission Bans Import of Motorola's Popular Droid And Blur Smartphones To The United States

The US International Trade Commission has ruled that Motorola can not import it's popular Droid and Blur smartphones that use the Android operating system, siding with Microsoft who accused Motorola Mobility of violating patents.

The ruling covers 18 Motorola devices in all, and must now either pay Microsoft 33 cents for each device or stop all imports within 60 days. The only other remedy is for Motorola to alter the software used on the smartphone.
