The Florida News Journal is currently hiring and offers employment opportunities for the right candidates.  Applicants should be drug free, a high school graduate or GED equivelent, and have a good work ethic.  TFNJ adheres to established editorial standards for the news industry, and requires all employees to be able to work independently and within a team.

Reporter/Journalist:

A successful applicant will have previous work experience as a reporter or journalist with published and verifiable work.  Reporters, journalist and staff writers must be able to source their articles and present the facts in a non-bias manner truthfully.  Pay DOE.

 

Internship:

We are currently accepting interns who want to learn more about the new media business.  To qualify, you must be enrolled in an accredited school for journalism/communications/graphics/video engineering and be dependable, flexible, be willing to travel when required when not in school and be able to submit a short story about why you want this position.  We will also consider those who have graduated from school but have not began working in the industry.

 

Research Assistant:

Be able to source and find information to support articles in a non-bias manner, and be free of conflicts of interest in research.  Be able to work independently and as a team and have good computer skills. Pay DOE.

 

Sales / Marketing:

This position is for self starters, and highly motivated individuals.  Successful applicants must be able to work on deadlines, and have excellent communication skills.  Marketing representatives must be able to understand metrics and readership habits and be able to use this information in a responsible and truthful manner to prospective advertisers.  Pay is commission based with the average expected pay starting at $3,500 per month, and up to $7,000 per month is possible for motivated and professional result oriented sales people.

 

Maint/Laborer:

You wil work under a Facilty Manager and follow direction on keeping the place clean, safe and a desireable work environment.  Duties include cleaning up building, and property, making routine repairs, landscaping and irrigation of outside property.  Knowledge of drywall, plumbing, electrical is helpful but not required.

Pay starts are $9.25/hour.
